All About the Crestline Art-Tiques Walk:
The Crestline Art-Tiques Walk began in 2010 by the brave souls - Pamela and Jeffrey Whitney. After living for a while in Jerome, AZ, the couple was enamored with the idea of a resort town that was also a wonderful artist's community. One that fostered local art and local artists as well as supported the local businesses.
Crestline has been a small resort town since it's early beginnings. The town has a wonderful main street in its downtown area that lends itself well to a walking atmosphere. There are several antique and consignment shops throughout town and the idea really simply formed itself. Open to a symbiotic relationship, the antique stores were more than willing to share their locations with some local artists and musicians to create this monthly event.
Upon seeing the effect this wonderful event had on the town, it's residents and shop owners, the Crestline Chamber of Commerce joined forces with Pamela and Jeff and began sponsoring a Wine Walk in conjunction with the art and antique walk. Now you can enjoy wine tasting and light snacks as you decide just which art piece or antique will be perfect for your home.
The walk happens on the first Saturday of each month from June through October. The weather is generally mild and often much more comfortable than you will find just at the bottom of the mountain. There are approximately 30 artists and as many as 10 musicians participating each month. You will see art as varied as paintings, photography, jewelry, glass art, gourd art, mosaics, wood art and so much more. The musicians are so entertaining and are also spread out throughout the walk stops.
There are information booths posted at the end of Lake Dr. to guide you to the locations that are participating in the walk. You can stroll up one side and down the other side of the street and simply take in the beauty of the town, the shops, the art, the music and the ambiance.
This event is truly "Art and Antiques In Alpine Style"
